FNSS MTB Prologis, 1 May 2026

I decided to try out these Friday night events for the first time. We showed up super early to sign in and check out the course. Everyone was really chill and friendly. We hopped on our bikes and did a quick run-through. There were some seriously fast straights, but as soon as you hit the woods—which looked like an old quarry—things got super technical. We're talking narrow trees you had to squeeze through, which pretty much everyone had to stop for, and then a steep climb up a bank through more trees. They even had an A/B line with a really deep, rutted bank down. One of the marshals was awesome and helped me through the A line, cheering me on the whole time. I was stoked to start the race, and as usual, I lined up at the back with the other 7 ladies.

The whistle blew, and we were off! As soon as we hit the woods, we got a bit jammed up, but eventually, I broke free and made my way down a steep drop and a sharp switchback. That's when I took a nasty fall, landing hard on my right shoulder... I immediately jumped back on, even though I knew I'd done some real damage. I managed to pass a few riders, including some juniors and even some of the guys. I was totally buzzing and loving the race. I spotted the finish flags in the distance and really pushed it, overtaking another rider. I ended up winning the ladies' race in my age group and overall! I was so pumped! The next day, I went to the hospital about my shoulder, and turns out I've separated my collarbone, Grade 1. So now I'm stuck resting. I'm pretty upset about it, especially since I've been feeling so good.
