Olympic Park 10k, 1 Nov 2020
On Sunday I ran my first ever timed 10k, aiming for sub-50 / 45 mins! I set off at 45 min pace but realised I didn’t quite have it in me, so decided to just get round and aim for sub-50. Mentally this was really tough, running 4 laps of a course with increasingly tired legs. I couldn’t wait to reach the finish line! But as soon as I completed the race I was so pleased I’d done it; I achieved sub-50 (despite taking a wrong turn and having to sprint back up a hill) and this is an excellent benchmark to hold myself to in the future! Can’t wait to keep training and see what I can achieve next time!
