Varsity XC MTB, 20 Mar 2022

This Varsity installment was relatively niche, where mountain biking and road meet. The pointy end of the race was all roadies with a second hobby like myself. The race was a nice low-key 4 laps around Parkwood Springs MTB track in Sheffield. The start was nice and fast and stayed that way. I kept with the front guys and took the more technical lines to improve my position. My legs faded a little on the climbs as the race went on, however I was able to gain the time back on the descents which were loose and flowy. I was happy to walk away with 3rd place, in my first effort like that of the year and it was a good fun race.
