Wow what a TT! Nearly 100 riders, 19 of them were women.. I came 7th with some of the strongest women riders, and god was it good to be out in the sun in perfect conditions, with a lot of PBs hit on a very competitive field. I was really pleased with my performance especially as I have had difficulty training with ongoing back problems. This was my 1st 15 mile TT and on an amazing course with even better conditions. I went onto the A428 dual carriageway from the slip road and just tried to get in a rhythm. I timed all the roundabouts perfectly and wasn’t held up at all. My back held out for the first half - I tried to save it on the inclines by using an easier gears, and just tried to keep to the power I knew I could sustain. Thanks to Tim suggesting I put the miles on my Garmin I knew exactly how to gauge the finish and so could give it everything I had towards the end. My time was 00:35:33 giving me 7th woman and 5th vet. Thanks Tim!
