Southern Enduro Rd 1 Milland, 10 Apr 2022

Enduro racing for me is all about fun, as typically the trails they're hosted on are excellent. I also appreciate the environment and new people to chat to. All these reasons to compensate for my lack of speed on this terrain. This was Southern Enduro round one at Milland in the South downs. Very sandy trails with well built corners through some tight trees, you could get good speed up which was brilliant fun. Now my local mountain biking at uni in Sheffield is steep. When I say 'riding off a cliff', I mean it literally. It's all very slow speed as control is really quite important. This is completely different to the terrain at this race where judging corner speed makes the winner. I came something like 30th, the result in this case really doesn't matter. I had a top day out, couldn't take the smile off my face and had some mega pictures taken of me.
