Bury St Edmunds Triathlon, 10 Apr 2022

Distance: Sprint – 300m pool swim (12 lengths), 22k bike and 5k run

Results: Time - 1:39:35, Overall – 34/48, Category – 1/3, Gender – 7/15

Swim: Effortless and smooth swimming, nice and easy start gradually picking the pace up each length, focusing on a nice steady rhythm, bi-lateral breathing every 3 strokes and a steady strong leg kick.

 Pace: 2:08 – 1.59 Time: 7:09

Bike: First outdoor ride on the TT bike this year – felt fast although confidence on aerobars hindered a bit on what would have been fast sections (need to work on this), lovely route and some technical bits heading back into Bury – speed bumps and dodge the potholes! Nice clean dismount and dash to transition.

Pace: around 15.2 mph Time: 56:39

Run: Quick transition, strong running form however pace not the best. Tired early from the bike leg, seemed to get second wind on second lap. And finished strong!

Pace: 10:12 (slightly quicker at start and finish) Time: 33:04

Objectives – Work on cycling and running stamina and consistency, swim pacing and open water skills. TT position on Cannondale and leg strength.
