Leicestershire League CX Misterton, 13 Oct 2024

On Sunday 13th October I headed over to Leicester League CX at Misterton. Needing to make it most of the way there by public transport, it was an early start to catch the train from Nottingham to Leicester, but I soon arrived to a (much colder than expected!) course at Misterton.

The course was enjoyable and something that suited me, being predominantly in the woods and with lots of twisty sections. However due to having never raced in this league before, I was gridded right at the back of a stacked women’s field. I spent a large portion of the race fighting through people trying to work my way up. I didn’t quite have it in my legs as much as I’d hoped so no result to shout home about, but still pleased to be back racing after a quiet summer, and improving in ways in each race this season. Overall I ended up 6th in the senior women, with there being no separate U23 category at this event.
