Central League CX/Central Regional Championship, 24 Nov 2024

On the 24th November I raced at the Central Regional Championships at Corby. This is a course I’ve done before in previous seasons but in much better conditions. I wasn’t looking forward to this race as Storm Bert rolled through, with strong winds and torrential rain. The rain held off for my sighting laps which didn’t give me confidence for the race with a tricky descent and lots of mud.

As I lined up on the start line for the slightly shortened race it was cold and rainy, however I got my best start so far this season, being in 4th position into the 1st corner. I pushed on throughout the race and went full gas into the tricky sections I was scared of going down during the sighting lap.

I ended up getting 7th overall woman and 3rd Central region senior woman. This was my best result to date for off-roading and my first podium.
