Bath Two Tunnels Half, 18 Aug 2024
I entered the Bath Two Tunnels Half as a way to keep me motivated when training and help to see where my fitness is at the moment. It was a great day out, with lots of sun (possibly too much)! It was a very nice course which started through the old railway tunnels then followed along the canal for most of it.
I started feeling strong and was finding a good pace, but at about km 12 my legs started to feel very heavy. Luckily not long after this I was joined by another runner who was using my pacing and gave some very good advice and motivation. It wasn’t the easiest finish working slowly back uphill but I made it!
I was happy with my final time and placed 12 overall woman, but was definitely feeling the week of training before in the legs. This has made me so excited to keep working on my endurance and see what I can do in the Budapest Marathon coming up soon.
