Notts & Derby CX League Rd 1 & 2, 13/27 Sep 2025

Over the last few weekends it’s been great to get the CX season underway at some of the local races. First up was a super local one to me at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham which is a course i have ridden a fair bit previously in training and races. I had a really strong race and after not being gridded I spent most of the race moving up to place 2nd senior and 1st u23 which is something I was really happy with! Having a bit of a disaster with bikes the night before I raced on a borrowed bike so really pleased that I was still able to race strong.

2 weeks later I headed up to Derby for the next round of the NDCXL series in Markeaton. This was less my day, as I struggled a little with just feeling generally low on energy (which soon made sense when a cold started to appear the next day!) and a small mechanical problem which required a pit change onto a new bike, which interrupted the rhythm of the race a little bit. I was definitely still happy with parts of the race and ended up 5th overall.
