Notts & Derby CX & National Trophy CX, 29 Nov & 7 Dec 2025

On 29th November I headed back to Holme Pierrepont for another CX race. It was a very wet lead up so the conditions were super muddy! This proved pretty tough as it was the first race this season where I’d needed to change bikes due to the mud buildup. I started pretty strong but generally struggled unfortunately - coming back off illness I just wasn’t quite there. Despite this it was really good practice racing in tricky conditions, as I’ve never been quite as confident with the muddy races.

This massively helped for going forwards at a super muddy race in Bradford for the National Trophy race the next weekend. Luck was unfortunately not on my side again this race - I got caught up in a crash at the start so wasn’t able to finish the full race. However I was really pleased with how I was able to ride some of the technical sections, being able to stay on the bike while others were having to dismount and run.
