Darley Moor and Milton Keynes Crits, 22/29 Mar 2025

Crit reports: Over the last few weekends I decided to dip my toe into crit racing. The first one was at Darley Moor, and was a bit of a baptism of fire. There’s one or two fairly sharp corners, and it was pretty windy. I largely stayed out of trouble and avoided the front, though no result to shout about other than staying upright.

The second crit at Milton Keynes was a bit more successful - and a lot more fun. The course had no sharp corners, and no brutal wind. The first 10 laps or so were hard - so many attacks were flying about, and as I was trying to stay close to the front I ended up chasing a few down. The race calmed down a lot in the middle as everyone realised no one was going to get away. I went too early on the last lap and ended up 8th after the sprint, but was very happy to have gotten around in the front group and gained some confidence!
