Last weekend (4th May) I took part in my first ever road race at Witham Hall. The race was a National B race so I was very unsure what to expect. I’ve never done anything at that sort of level but I had been considering the idea of road racing for a while and thought I would give it a go as it was a pretty local one to me. I travelled over with other riders from the University of Nottingham which was really nice to have a team of us there and helped me with the fact I didn’t really know what I was doing!

I was able to stay with the main group until about 60k in when I had a slight mechanical so had to put in a big effort to get back to the group which definitely killed me off a little! For the rest of the race I was definitely just me trying to hang on but as my goal was just to finish this one, I’m really pleased with how it went, and I’m definitely thinking about doing some more.
