MTB National Series Rd 4, 8 Jun 2025
Man Down Media
For Round 4 of the MTB National series I headed over to Tong, near Bradford. The conditions were pretty wet which wasn’t ideal for this course: it doesn’t usually hold up well to poor weather. I went into the race just hoping for a clean ride and to get round smoothly.
The course dried up a little by my race on the Sunday afternoon so I was hopeful to get a decent result. Having come 3rd and 2nd in the previous rounds, I aimed for something similar so put in a pretty quick first lap to find myself at the front of the group. Another rider came past me so I settled into 2nd position for the majority of the race. I did manage to put in a final little effort to regain the lead in the last couple of minutes and ultimately win, which is something I was super happy with as I have never won a national race before!
With Tong being a course I have not been super confident with in the past, I was also pleased to have ridden the features smoothly which topped off the good weekend! Definitely seeing the progress this season thanks to Tim’s help which has been great and looking forward to the next National round in a couple of weeks!
