Tim has been absolutely fantastic. He supported me through a half and a full Ironman in 2023. A great individualised plan that really feels like he has put time and effort into making it. I have a busy rota and Tim has always been flexible and helped me work around this (without knackering myself out) and I got through the full training cycle without any injuries.
— Millie Rhead, Cambridgeshire

I joined Catenary in March 2023 and asked Tim to devise a training programme for me to focus on endurance cycling, having found my self-devised training was not giving me the necessary improvement. The difference is astonishing! I have no ambition to race, but if anyone is in any doubt whether a professionally devised dedicated training regime is worthwhile for someone that simply wants to ride sportives for enjoyment, it certainly does. With the set programme, commitment and watchful eye of Catenary, anyone wanting to do the same should not hesitate to follow in my footsteps: it’s worthwhile for everyone, not just for those that wish to race competitively.
— Andrew Lowin, Cambridgeshire

I have worked with Tim for a year now and have seen huge improvements in my triathlon performance, particularly in cycling. His continued bike fitting advice and test saddle collection has also been invaluable.
— Emily Young, Cambridgeshire

Tim is a wonderful & highly skilled coach- always willing to discuss & provide more information on all things cycle-related. Very professional with lots of expert knowledge but also listens to & values the thoughts of a much less-experienced athlete! Thanks for helping me with so many aspects of my triathlon racing.
— Ophelia Vesely, Durham/Surrey

After much research, I finally found the perfect match to my training needs & budget. I only started with Tim a month ago & I’m already seeing the benefits of my sessions, which are all tailored & commented on!
— Mara Cope, Derbyshire

I first started with Tim in February 2021. He is a fantastic coach who listens and adapts to what you need. He always answers questions and is insanely knowledgeable about cycling. At the start of my journey with Tim I requested too much in terms of my training; with trying to fit in dog walks, work, a social life and training, I had a burn out. I spoke to Tim about this and he was really understanding, and suggested we adjust my programme - I haven’t looked back since :) I have seen both my cycling and running fitness improve massively, but haven’t sacrificed my normal life commitments. I am even doing my first ever TT tonight!
— Georgia Roberts, Manchester

Tim is a great coach, he is supportive, sets appropriate workouts for my goals and communicates regularly. Through his coaching work he has developed a team of friendly, like minded people who I feel I can meet up with when I’m away at competitions.
— Sarah Hunter, N. Yorks

Tim is an amazing coach who really takes time to understand his athletes and create programmes that really work.
Having a coach that listens and responds to an athlete’s situation or need is invaluable, and with Catenary you get that, plus so much more in terms of a great and supportive community.
— Sarah Harding, Durham

Since joining Team Catenary, I became a much better cyclist and triathlete. Tim is an excellent coach - he helped me get through a couple of injuries and adjust the training to my busy uni schedule. I got a chance to meet other female athletes and enjoy the team spirit.
— Maja Radecka, Cambridge/Poland

I’ve been working with Tim for circa 9 months and have seen significant power improvements coupled with a 10+kg weight loss. His advice and guidance has helped me to regain competitive form much more quickly than I thought possible and I would highly recommend his services.
— Andy Lingham, Cambridgeshire

Tim is a brilliant coach, not only because he is incredibly knowledgeable and approachable, but also because he knows exactly when to push you and when to ease off. Over the last 9 months, I’ve grown to trust him immensely and I’ve reached goals that seemed unachievable just a year ago! I couldn’t recommend Catenary Coaching more!
— Emilia Miller, Oxford

The journey with Catenary Coaching has been great. It has allowed me to put some structure to my training and enabled me to become a better cyclist. Tim is excellent at his job. He is always available to respond on doubts or provide feedback. He takes into consideration various external factors such as work, holiday or your health and structures the plan accordingly. Highly recommended!!
— Siddhant Manerkar, Reading

Tim is the best coach I could ask for. Responsive, knowledgeable, goes above and beyond to understand my training needs and provide varied, evidence-based and detailed bike, run and strength sessions week on week tailored precisely to my performance goals. The support, confidence and high quality training plans that Caternary Coaching has provides me has been exceptional and has enabled me to achieve qualification for the World Sprint Duathlon Championships 2022 whilst working 50 hour weeks, after only taking up multisport a couple of years ago. Thank you Coach Tim!
— Lucy Hoade, Cardiff/Devon

Tim is a great coach. Always happy to answer questions, chat about training and is great at creating training that works alongside a busy day to day life. I’ve seen some great improvement in my cycling performance since working with Tim and I’m really looking forward to continuing into the future! The cycling community is lucky to have him. It’s wonderful to see promotion of female cycling in particular!
— Maddie Angwin, Cambridgeshire

Tim has been my coach for almost 2 years and he has been fantastic. During lockdown, Tim organised chaingangs and group workouts on Zwift, which I found really motivating. When restrictions were lifted, there were organised group rides (at the Peak District, Hertfordshire, the Surrey Hills etc), which was enjoyable and great to meet the other athletes. It has been great to see myself improve massively on and off the bike, thanks to Tim! 🙂
— Amy Harvey, Essex

I’ve been training with Tim at Team Catenary for just over a year and I’ve been loving it (as well as seeing massive improvements in my fitness). Having never really been an endurance athlete I came to Tim with the challenge of helping me train for my first 70.3 triathlon, among other races. From all the training Tim set I by far exceeded my expectations when it came to race day. With another 70.3 planned for the autumn I can already see huge improvements from the winter block of training and all the great sessions Tim set. Tim is also super accommodating when it comes to injuries, helping tailor your programme to support in the best way 🙂 Now post all the lockdowns it’s great when we get to meet up for our various team rides, next one coming up is a ride in the iconic Surrey hills!
— Lottie Lindsley, Reading

I have seen an improvement with my overall cycling, and will hopefully continue cycling with Tim’s help & encouragement.
— Sheila Coad, Warwickshire

I’ve been coached by Tim for about 8 months now, and only started cycling just before that. I have seen great improvement in my cycling ability and power production. The sessions he sets me have great variety for both running and cycling and are very enjoyable. He is very good in scheduling the sessions around any uni or work commitments which I may have, allowing me to maximise my training. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting great triathlon training!
— Jess Barrett-Drylie, Cambridgeshire

I have been training with Catenary Cycle Coaching for a few months now and can already see great improvements particularly in my bike power. I cannot recommend Tim enough, he really listens to your goals and adapts my training to my ever changing work pattern. I can’t wait to see what I can achieve with the guidance and training plans from Catenary Cycle Coaching.
— Alli Coleman, Manchester

I have been training with Tim and Catenary Cycle Coaching for nearly a year. The sessions are well structured and event focused. I have improved my power by around 15% both in FTP tests and on the road. I have also set two 10 mile TT bests this season. I am looking forward to getting my bike fit done too.
The group rides, real and virtual, are great fun as well.
— Edward Bolland, West Midlands

Tim has coached me through 2021 providing a progressive training plan as well as time trial and road bike fits. The adjustments improved power delivery and aerodynamics. The training plan increased my 20 minute power by over 35W in 3 months and I have achieved personal bests on my local 9 mile and 11 mile time trial courses.
— Graham Hardwick, West Midlands

I highly recommend Tim as a coach! I joined Team Catenary in March 2021 and after only a few months with Tim I noticed improvements in both my training and performance in events. The training programme that Tim provides is tailored to my needs and I really enjoy both the progression and variety in the sessions. I feel supported and listened to – Tim gives me useful feedback on completed sessions, and has been great whenever I have had to adapt my training plan due to unforeseen reasons.
Tim understands what I need to focus on to reach my goals and he’s always willing to help advise me in all aspects of being a successful triathlete. I feel more motivated to train and have been encouraged to push myself to achieve bigger and better things.
Joining Catenary was the right decision for me and I look forward to continuing my triathlon training journey with Tim.
— Jennifer Carter, Oxford

Joining Catenary Cycle Coaching in September has been a fantastic decision. Tim provides thoughtful structured plans specifically tailored to help you meet your goals, adapting to whatever life circumstances might arise (e.g. Covid lockdowns!). I have massively improved my bike power in only a few months as a result. I have also really loved being part of a community - I’ve been able to join team rides, take part in group S&C and Zwift chaingang sessions, and discuss plans with athletes training for similar events. Would highly recommend!
— Kathryn Robertson Arrébola, London

I joined Team Catenary during summer 2020 to work on my cycling and running performance while I was trying to recover from being underweight, and generally overtrained from my previous plan. Coach Tim is always very present throughout my journey as an athlete in the team, creating a tailored programme and constantly checking up on my health and fitness progress. Each Training Peaks session contains a detailed explanation and rundown of the workout, giving you a chance to learn how what you’re doing will improve your performance and when you will be using certain skills. Upon joining, I was also given a comprehensive guide on training, including tips on working out indoors and outdoors, nutrition, recovery, performance and menstrual cycle, which were and are extremely useful when training. I look forward to competing soon!
— Mirianna la Grasta, Italy

Since I joined the Catenary team at the beginning of lockdown I have not looked back! My training is now structured, varied and interesting, rather than of a haphazard nature prior to joining. I have noticed a great improvement in my overall fitness and cannot wait to see the difference when I am able to compete in triathlons again next year.
Tim has kept me focused and motivated - he is flexible and alters my training schedule when needed. He is extremely knowledgeable and is always on hand to offer advice.
The rest of the Catenary team are supportive and motivational. I enjoyed meeting up with some of my Catenary teammates for a challenging ride around the Peak District in the summer and enjoy catching up with everyone on organised Zwift rides which happen regularly.
I honestly cannot recommend Catenary enough!
— Lara Greggs, Tyne & Wear

I joined Catenary Coaching in March 2020 as a triathlete and have gone from strength to strength since. Tim is an extremely knowledgeable coach and his coaching has led to my recent PBs. Tim goes above and beyond to help me and my training. I cannot recommend joining Catenary Cycle Coaching enough. As well as online coaching I have really enjoyed meeting other like-minded athletes on the Catenary group rides. 🚲😊🚲
— Mia Hawkins, Oxfordshire

I joined Catenary Coaching in May 2020 as I wanted to build my cycling fitness back up to racing level. Tim gave me a structured training plan and lots of targets to work towards which I’d never had before. In the last 6 months I’ve made lots of time trial personal bests and improvements in my criterium racing too.
It’s great to have such a varied set of workouts which keep me motivated even when the weather is rubbish. The training plan is flexible, so if I want to increase my running mileage or if I want an easier session Tim will swap things around to suit me.
Tim also arranges lots of social rides, including rides in Oxfordshire, the Peak District, the Surrey Hills or Zwift to suit everyone. The Catenary Team are a really lovely and supportive group of athletes so it’s great to do rides and workouts together.
I really recommend Catenary Coaching!
— Frances Lammyman, Warwickshire

I joined the team 6 months ago and have already seen great improvements, dropping 2 and a half minutes off my 5k time and cycling further and harder than I ever have before! Tim is a great coach; always easily available for advice, very flexible and the programme is very individual-orientated, couldn’t ask for more!
— Eleanor Wells, Hertfordshire/Devon

I joined Catenary Cycle Coaching earlier this year to support my preparation for the 2020 Ride Across Britain. Whilst the event was cancelled this year, I have both enjoyed and seen improvements as a result of structured and planned training.

I can recommend Tim & Catenary Coaching to support preparation for these types of events.
— Andrew Kinglake, Cambridgeshire

Tim goes above and beyond to support the team and even drove to Milton Keynes and lent me his CX bike for my first CX race! There’s never a dull moment in the Catenary Coaching team. Throughout lockdown Tim has provided opportunities such as a virtual duathlon competition, quizzes, Zwift rides and group workout sessions. This has been a game changer especially with the race season on hold.

Having a structured workout programme tailored to my goals has been extremely motivating and Tim has been great at adapting these when goals change and responding to individual needs.
— Maddie Heywood, London

I joined Catenary Coaching a few months back because I needed some help with my cycling, as I transitioned from being a runner to a duathlete. Tim has helped me to really enjoy cycling and learn how to push myself. He listens to the athlete and adapts training sessions which I believe is really important. Looking forward to improving even more with CC over the next few months!
— Maisie Boast, Surrey

Cannot recommend Catenary Cycle Coaching and Tim enough. As a coach he listens to you as an athlete and makes bespoke training programmes for you. Having a coach that sees you beyond just numbers, as a person with feelings and ups and downs, is crucial - and that’s exactly what you get. Thank you
— Sarah Harding, County Durham

I joined Team Catenary at the start of 2020 and I am so pleased I did. Not only is Tim knowledgeable and supportive, he is also extremely passionate about what he does. Since joining, Tim has helped me get back from my elbow fracture and I am now super excited to see where my new training takes me! By being part of Team Catenary, not only do you get fantastic support in shaping your training but you also become part of a wider support network with fellow athletes who support and motivate each other. Definitely recommend joining the team!
— Helene Wright, Warwickshire

Joining Catenary Coaching has been the best thing ever for my training and fitness levels. Tim is a fab coach - supportive, knowledgeable and passionate. Having a structured and varied training plan takes the pressure off when you’ve got a busy lifestyle and it keeps you motivated to get it done. Tim has set my running sessions as well and I’ve seen big improvements on my PBs (and I’ve been a runner for a long time now!). I’m really looking forward to seeing what I can do with my bike times.
Not only is Tim a brilliant coach, I also feel I’m part of an amazing team - everyone is supportive, motivating and inspiring. Seriously recommend joining Catenary Coaching!
— Rachel Brown, Cumbria

Joining Catenary Cycle Coaching has been one of the best training decisions I have ever made! I feel supported and listened to which makes me even more motivated to complete each session as well as I can. The training sessions are varied and challenging and I look forward to seeing my programme every week!
— Megan Powell, London

Catenary Coaching has provided me with a love for cycling I never thought I’d have! As I am a triathlete, Tim caters the weekly bike programme to fit with the other sports and races and provides explanation of the benefits and aims of each session.
Not only does Catenary Coaching provide a coach, but also a team atmosphere with support and encouragement across the country.
— Amie Buttle, Dorset/Surrey

I joined Catenary at the end of the 2019 cycling season and I’m so glad I decided to. Tim has been very supportive with my drive to improve my performance ready for the 2020 TT season. His motivation, encouragement and flexibility in training has allowed me to improve my overall cycling especially my fitness and strength while fitting it round other commitments.
Even though the season is on hold Tim has continued to encourage everyone through online alternative group sessions, to keep the motivation high, ready for if and when racing resumes.
I would highly recommend Tim and Catenary Cycle Coaching.
— Maria Gent, Northamptonshire

Tim has been so supportive during my time with him and you know that he’s always there to talk to as a coach and a friend. I’ve had a few setbacks in the time I’ve had with Catenary but Tim has been so supportive and understanding!
I’m hugely looking forward to the future with Catenary and getting ready for some big events!
— Paige McLeod, County Durham

Catenary has motivated and helped me improve my cycling over the past year. I have gained amazing results and tried new things like cycling time trials. I am a triathlete but cycling is definitely my favourite part. I have really enjoyed the sessions and support that Catenary Cycle Coaching offers.
— Sasha Vail, Cambridgeshire

Last year was probably my worst year, with recovery from operations. My fitness was really low but my morale and drive were even lower. So I’ve been with Tim for a month now. The training that he sets is hard but achievable, he comments on most rides offering micro feedback. In only a month I can see the difference in fitness and my attitude. This has shown especially when doing an easier ride and getting PRs.
— Roland Ward, Cambridgeshire

Tim took me on a few months ago after a rough year: too much work, personal difficulties and not enough cycling passion to race! Tim is understanding of an individual rider’s needs, supportive and knowledgeable and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services. He trains and races in several disciplines himself and so knows what we go through day-to-day with fitting in training and racing around life, a big plus point when taking on a new coach.
— Andy Fountain, Cambridgeshire

Tim is a great coach, friendly, knowledgeable and supportive with just the right amount of encouragement when needed. Having Tim as a coach has helped keep my motivation and drive on track and I have found my cycling improving consistently, hitting my goals for the season and wanting more.
Looking forward to another year of hitting goals and improving!
— Lee Carey, Cambridgeshire

I started working with Tim and Catenary Coaching earlier this year. Tim is great as he understands while we all love our sports, real life happens around it. He gives you the tools and sessions to train with and allows you the freedom to weave those sessions into a busy week, so you know you are hitting those training goals! Can’t wait to see what we will achieve next season!
— Melissa Haselden, Leicestershire

Having joined Catenary Coaching, I have seen so much improvement in my cycling performance. Having had a structured training schedule that’s personal to me, I have been able to improve on my weakness, which is road racing, and I have already seen so much improvement. Having Tim as a coach has really helped me with motivation to do training and he is always there for me to ask for advice.
— Isabella Johnson, Suffolk

Tim’s structured training provides brilliant focus and I feel this has helped me become far more dedicated to my training – the outside perspective spurs me on and really motivates me every training session. Every session challenges but it’s never daunting or a pressured environment.
Primarily, the support and encouragement from Tim is fantastic, not just when I’m doing well, crucially, he’s always there when something doesn’t go to plan or I have a question. Tim’s attention to detail and having him on board with my targets and training has turned this season around, I’ve found a new level of enjoyment for my time trialling and am more confident about my current abilities, and also the scope for improvement with Tim’s coaching. In April, I couldn’t have imagined how I could have improved in such a short space of time.
— Julia Wardley-Kershaw, Manchester

I turned 60 this year and set myself a challenge of cycling LEJOG over 10 days. I have only been cycling for about 4 years and l wanted to make sure l was ready for the challenge. I spoke to Tim who set me up with a training program to fit around me and my work/home life. It was great to have a meaning to each ride or session rather then just banging out the miles. Tim was always on hand to answer any questions and to offer encouragement. Tim is very approachable and passionate about cycling. His passion is contagious and you find yourself trying to be the best you can. I can highly recommended him to anyone who is looking improve for whatever reason. I achieved my target in May this year so a big thank you Tim!
— Keith Maddocks, Cambridgeshire

I started cycling just under 3 years ago (when I joined St Ives CC), and, in a moment of madness, I recently signed up to LEJOG. Realising the enormity of this challenge, I knew I needed help and this is why I contacted Tim. As a relatively novice (and relatively old) cyclist, I was looking for specific help with a formal training plan, motivation, knowledge, conditioning and nutrition in relation to longer rides.
Tim has guided me through all these areas. The formal training plan gives me a structure. If life gets in the way (as it sometimes does), Tim is there to adjust the programme and re-assure me I can achieve my aim. Motivation comes from the regular and personal emails I receive to keep me on track. Tim has arranged several sessions for me on bike cleaning, bike maintenance, changing tyres and also guided me on what to buy to ensure I have the tools to deal with any problems I encounter on the road. Guidance on core strength sessions as well as several longer challenges included in my plan help with my strength and endurance conditioning.
My confidence is improving and, with Tim’s help, I am getting there. On 15 September, I can now say, I’ve got there (to John O’Groats), thanks to Tim (and quite a lot of hard work!).
— Carolyn Penney, Cambridgeshire

I’ve had Tim as my coach for just over a year now and I have improved in leaps and bounds especially recently after the winter training. He set structured, thought out training sessions which I am now benefiting from, hitting numbers I could only dream of last year. He’s always been open for communication both on rides and on Facebook and adapts everything completely personally to me. I would highly recommend Tim.
— Ollie Maynard, Cambridgeshire

Since joining Catenary Cycle Coaching, Tim has been fantastic. I had many concerns about being coached, including trying to fit training into work and family life and not understanding the whole technology part of cycling. Tim has been great explaining everything and putting a training programme in place that I can follow and that works well for me.
I’m overwhelmed by how much difference Catenary Cycle Coaching has made to my fitness and most of all my results in Time Trials and Racing. Every time I have been out I’ve had PBs! When competing this weekend at Islington CC F15/10 TT I came 3rd in the Ladies and 1st in the Vets - my first ever win! I couldn’t be happier. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without Tim’s training and help.
I’m excited for the rest of season. I can’t thank Tim enough for all the support, encouragement and even pushing me when I start to doubt myself. I look forward to the future and more positive outcomes in my racing.
— Sophie Lee, Suffolk
