Lovelo F13/50 50 mile time trial, 28 May 2018

My first ever 50 mile TT which turned out to be as tough as I feared (especially after doing a 25 the day before!). I set out with a conservative power target which I had managed to hold for 35 miles or so, but it was starting to get tough. I decided to try and hold that power until 90 minutes/40 miles which was also on the last turn. By then it was really difficult to keep going - every part of me was aching, bumps were agony, and I had to come out of the TT position several times in the last 10 miles just to try and ease my back/neck/shoulders/undercarriage. Power and speed dropped right off and to my relief I managed to finish in under 2 hours, with 1:55.35 ( I was originally hoping for 1:50).
