St Ives CC TT, 5 June 2019
I was initially confident as the evening looked fast with a slight wind from the south. It was very humid and sticky. I started way too hard and paid for it later but just about held the average speed. I set a PB by roughly 15 seconds and aim to improve it again next time.
Not having ridden this course for 2 years I was excited to see how much faster I could do it now. Unfortunately on arriving I realised I had forgotten my Garmin! I was annoyed and a bit disheartened but I carried on regardless having to ride the race blind. The wind was low and weather was dry. I was the second racer off and soon caught number 1, but was slowed down by a learner driver and some other cars behind rider 1. It was frustrating that I couldn’t see my HR and cadence but I just had to go with it and hope for the best. I crossed the line at 25.49 a massive PB for a 10 mile TT and shaving nearly 2 minutes off my previous ride on the N1/10.
