East District Cycling Association TT B10/37R, 9 Aug 2020
On Sunday I rode my first 10 mile TT of the season on the B10/37R course. The wind was very unfavourable, being a mixture of headwind and crosswind. The 30°C weather also made the race more of a challenge.
I paced the 10 miles well and kept my heart rate mostly the same throughout, which was quite a lot higher than it usually is because of the heat, and my power was lower than I expected. I did lose a few seconds from getting stuck behind a car that was turning right, but luckily I didnt have to unclip or slow down too much.
I finished in a time of 25:21 which placed me 4th Female and 1st Junior. It was also a course PB (by 51 seconds) which is nice to see, considering that I last raced this course at the end of last season with a more favourable wind direction.
I'm looking forward to getting a TT bike fit done with Tim during the week so that I can hopefully achieve a more power efficient position on my new bike ready for the rest of this season.
