Southern Enduro MTB, 11 Apr 2021

I did my first enduro mountain bike race at Milland in Surrey. This race format consists of 5 downhill stages, with the times added up to form the leaderboard. The course had elements of corners, drops, jumps and awkward steep and tight sections and was a real achievement to even get down yet alone race! I hit each stage as hard as I could. It was very difficult to maintain composure twisting through the trees, but I tried to maintain speed as much as possible through the tricky sections. I placed 10th in the hard tail 18+ category, 1:20 down on the leader over the 5 stages. Given I made two mistakes causing me to slow down, and my complete lack of experience, it was a great success!
