Hoghill Circuit Race, 24 Apr 2021

On Saturday I competed in the race at Hoghill (again!). There was a small field but they were all my local rivals so I knew this race was going to be a challenge for me. We were started off with the boys and as expected it was a very fast first lap, I kept up with them until after we got up the climb. One rider was on my wheel and the other rider was just in front. For the first few laps me and another rider were together but after putting the pressure on on the climb I managed to get away and hold on to that gap for the whole race. The other rider gained a slightly bigger gap so my target was to chase her down (while keeping away from third place). In the last two laps the gap closed quickly, especially on the last lap where I almost caught her - the crossed the line roughly 2 seconds before I did. So I finished 2nd 🥈which I was pleased with considering I was the youngest!
