N&DCA Naseby TT, 24 Apr 2021

This was my first open TT of the year. Before the race I checked the course out and it was terrible, horrible surface for the majority with many hills but Welland Valley CC had clearly marked the pot holes, and I managed to miss them all during the race. I was feeling good prior to the race, but wasn’t sure what to expect as I’d never raced here before. I had a great start and managed to catch my minute and 2 minute riders within the first half of the TT. Unfortunately I got held up in Sibbertoft by a very slow moving classic car on the winding roads, which lost me at least 30 seconds, which was frustrating. I was pleased with my result considering my hold up and happy with where I am at this point in the season. I managed to get 5th in 27:13: there was only 38 secs between the top 5 ladies, and only 2 seconds between 3rd and 5th place.
