Aerocoach Roadman's TT, 16 May 2021

This was my 5th race of the season and it was a good race - a power PB for this year so far and I’m slowly building on my confidence now.

I felt strong as I’ve been focusing really hard on nutrition and fuelling and putting a lot of effort into my training and I’m now feeling like it’s starting to pay off.

I was 17th overall out of 30 - it was a VERY competitive field with the likes of Hayley Simmonds competing so very pleased with the result.

There was a downside - as it was a Saturday afternoon TT there was some traffic. I got held up behind a car and lost at least 20secs - I had to slow down at both roundabouts as well but that’s the nature of these types of races.

I will be doing this next year with a goal of being competitive and being in the top 12 (points are given up to 12th place) lots of time to build on FTP and fitness in the meantime.
