National XC Series Rd 1 Cannock, 6 Apr 2025

My MTB season started properly last Sunday at Cannock Chase for the first round of the National XC Series. Cannock has always been a course that suits me well with lots of twisty sections in the forest and some techy climbs so it was a race I was really looking forward to.

I went out pretty hard on the first lap but couldn’t quite keep with the leaders so settled into 3rd place for the rest of the race. The next 4 laps I rode completely solo, and rolled over in 3rd place in the Female Expert category. This is a result I am really pleased with as it was my first National podium so a really good start to the season. Looking forward to going again at the next round in a couple of weeks!
