MTB National Series Rd 5, 29 Jun 2025

For the final round of the MTB National Series I headed up to Kirroughtree in Scotland. After my win in Tong I was hopeful for another good result, but this was a course I hadn’t been the most confident with in previous years so was hoping to ride a smooth race and ride all the technical sections well.

The first lap started well, with me leading out the rest of the girls in my category but due to using different nutrition to normal I started to feel quite nauseous quite quickly so had to ease off a little and settle into second place. I then just tried to keep things smooth until the finish and make sure I kept a decent gap to the rider in third. I came across the line in second, which meant I gained enough points in the series to win overall, which is something I am super happy with!

Last year I hadn’t had any podium places so to win overall this year is a big step in the right direction. Looking forward to my last MTB race of the season at National Champs where it will be good to see how I get on against all the other U23 riders in the UK.
