National Trophy MTB Round 1, 29 March 2026

For the first round of the MTB XC National Series this year I headed down to Plymouth. Having won the expert category last year, I have been moved up into the elite field which is super exciting and it’s great to be back in a UCI category. This being the first one though I didn’t really know what to expect so the aim was just to give it a good go and go out strong (and see how long I could hold on)!

The legs felt really good and I was happy with my position so the aim was just to try and hold it there until the end. The elite race is slightly longer than what I have been used to previously so it was tough but I’m really happy with how it went as the first experience of this field! I placed 11th which I’m super happy with and gave me a really good starting point for the rest of the season.
