Lee Valley Winter Circuit Series R3 (Cat 3/4), 20 Oct 2018

I decided to have a go at some circuit races this autumn after a break from competing. I certainly wasn’t feeling on as good form as in the spring when I did my first races, but it was a nice day and a lovely circuit made for a good experience. I tried to get into an early breakaway a couple of times but didn't make it, and the break came back anyway. It started getting hard to move up as the bunch of 50 riders was spread right across the track when things slowed down. I finally managed to get off the front with about 5 laps to go but just at that point a crash led to the race being neutralised for a few laps and then stopped as an ambulance was needed. So no result unfortunately, but generally a positive experience apart from this.
