Tour of Cambridgeshire Chrono TT, 1st June 2019

I woke up excited having waited a year to complete in the Tour of Cambridgeshire Chrono time trial. The weather was set to be perfect, sunny with a light wind. Not having done a TT yet this season I decided just to enjoy it and the experience and learn from it. I had ridden the course a couple of times in the week leading up to the event to get used to the hills, corners, where the drags were and descents. This gave me more confidence in riding it as I didn’t want to go in blind. I don't have much confidence on corners or climbing so I wanted to practise especially on the TT bike but it went well. I dug in and pushed, trying to pace myself as best as I could. Heading out into the wind was tough and dropping my water bottle early on i had to do the ride without any water which in hindsight worked out well, saving me time. I was able to stay on the aerobars and push on to the finish with a nice tailwind. This was my best cycling achievement and experience to date. I came in 8th place in the 19-34 age group with a time of 44.05 which I am very happy with.
