RLSCC/Rugby Velo Club TT, 21 July 2020

Tuesday was TT day again, with near perfect conditions. This time my club ran one of our fastest 10 mile courses, and Tim came along to watch myself and Helene Wright compete (and ride himself!). I wanted to see how much my training had improved my performance, so the pressure was on to beat my overall 10 mile PB.

The course started on a downhill, so I was flying and feeling great, watching my average speed go up and up! Seeing Tim overtake me at around half way only encouraged me to dig in more. The last part was deceptively uphill, I was pushing as hard as I could but I could see the seconds go by and get closer to my previous time.

I was happy with my performance, with a 16 second course PB and a 4 second all time PB! But I'm determined to beat this in two weeks time when they run the same course again. Two things I really should have done this week - leave enough time for a proper warm up and check my brakes weren't rubbing! Looking forward to next time and seeing if I can shave some seconds off.
