Bournemouth International Sprint Triathlon, 6 Sep 2020

Well I woke up to be what can only described as near perfect conditions, the sun was coming up and the sea was pretty flat! The swim was an out and back loop which was fine till we headed for home, with an early swim time the sun was just coming up so was making sighting hard work but hey it wasn’t raining and windy so I didn’t moan!

The first transition from the sea was up a zig zag uphill to the bikes making this T1 time long.

The bike was also an out and back stretch which was great - I felt a bit flat when I got going but as got further I got better, I turned for home with a very slight headwind but I knew I was having a good bike leg for me as no ladies had gone past yet!

I came off the bike and onto the run which started off with a downhill section on to the prom which was great it got the legs firing! Again the run once on the prom was an out and back. I came into the finish feeling good and having a race 2 weeks before had definitely helped!

I finished 3rd lady and won my age group - I was really pleased with my overall performance and my cycling has really come on!
